About Missouri Waterski Federation...

Formed in 1981, the Missouri Water Ski Federation is the governing body for competitive water skiing in Missouri. The Federation includes an elected governing body, officials, committees and members whom are skiers, non-skiers, families, kids, college students and adults that are water skiing enthusiasts. The MWSF is part of the Midwest Region of USA Water Ski. The MWSF consistently has a group of skiers that compete in the Midwest Region and National Water Ski tournaments.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Missouri Water Ski Federation is to promote the sport of water skiing (slalom, trick and jump), water safety, good sportsmanship, to oppose legislation that is adverse to skiers and boat owners, to develop a fraternal spirit between club members, to be a source of information and to assist in things which tend to further the interests of the people of Missouri in water skiing. The MWSF fulfills its purpose by holding regular meetings of the Board of Directors, an annual Membership meeting and by assisting with the planning of both skier and official’s clinics and tournaments.

USA Water Ski

USA Water Ski is the National Governing Body for organized water skiing in the United States. USA Water Ski is a member of the International Water Ski Federation (World Governing Body), the Pan American Sports Organization and the United States Olympic Committee. Affiliated with USA Water Ski as sport disciplines are the American Water Ski Association, American Barefoot Club, American Kneeboard Association, National Collegiate Water Ski Association, National Show Ski Association, National Water Ski Racing Association, United States Hydrofoil Association, USA Wakeboard and Water Skiers with Disabilities Association.

Approximately 630 local water ski clubs throughout the United States are affiliated with USA Water Ski. The clubs provide a working base in almost any locale for development of USA Water Ski programs, and in addition are the local organizers for nearly all water ski competition in the United States.

USA Water Ski's Grassroots Programs

USA Water Ski’s grassroots programs comprise of the National Ski League (NSL), the National Wakeboard League (NWL) and the National Barefoot League (NBL). Created in 1997, these programs were designed to provide water sports enthusiasts a fun, non-competitive approach to tournament participation. These events offer participants plenty of time on the water and personalized instruction. And unlike traditional water ski tournaments, the NSL, NWL and NBL offer participants the opportunity to learn and compete with skiers and riders of similar abilities.

National Ski League

The National Ski League is comprised of fun, ability-based tournaments with the purpose of growing the sport. These tournaments encompass many different aspects of water skiing, including slalom, tricks, kneeboarding, swivel skiing and much more.

A focus on fun makes the NSL attractive to skiers of all types - both recreational and competitive. The broad range of participants fosters a great learning environment, in which skiers of all ages and abilities can advance.

NSL events can be held as stand-alone tournaments, but they are also frequently tagged on to higher-level events to boost overall participation. Some feature skier clinics, while others provide opportunities to demo the latest water ski equipment.
